Wow.... but not suprising...

In 2009, the organisation reported in IRS filings that it received $18.3m in donations, and had assets of more than $104m, including $34m in stocks or other publicly traded securities.

Through chatting with a friend over what he acknowledged was a very difficult weekend, the light dawned on him that instead of the biblical Rapture in which the faithful would be swept up to the heavens, May 21 had instead been a "spiritual" Judgment Day, which places the entire world under Christ's judgment, he said.

The globe will be completely destroyed in five months, he said, when the apocalypse comes.

But because God's judgment and salvation were completed on Saturday, there's no point in continuing to warn people about it, so his network will now just play Christian music and programmes until the final end on Oct. 21.

No.  Nor can there be.  It’s theology in action, adhering to its proud, millennia-old heritage of chutzpah.  Religionists’ capacity for intellectual fraud is inexhaustible.  It’s why we’ll never be rid of their impostures.  You could almost admire it in a way similar to how you might admire a slow-motion sequence of an unfolding train wreck.

SA rapture man apologises
He admitted they were wrong and apologised, but said this was only in some aspects, like the taking away of the faithful and the earthquake.
Oh, is that all? So what he is actually saying is that they were wrong about everything then....
Coetzee remains convinced that the final end of the world will arrive on October 21, when the Earth will be consumed by fire and sulphur.
Oh no, fire and sulphur..... WTF!!
Financially, he is poorer than before, but he says he now has wealth in heaven, and adds that he wants to serve no other God.
Maybe he should hurry up and go where he will be wealthy!  Tongue

They took the “consumed by fire and sulphur” bit straight from the Afrikaans article without thinking about it: “… vuur en swael…”  The archaic name for sulphur is “brimstone,” and so a better translation would have been “consumed by fire and brimstone,” as we are accustomed to.  As a means of persuasion, brimstone is always preferable to sulphur because it wins hands down in the “sounds re-e-e-a-a-ally menacing” department.  Given a choice between being threatened by someone wielding brimstone or someone wielding sulphur, well, the sulphur-fiend’s gonna get flamed, isn’t he? Look on the bright side - nothing like a bit of hydrogen sulphide to freshen a place up.  Smiley

True.  As a rotten egg, it’s a lot friendlier than hydrogen brimstonide…

Er, I think brimstone’s chemical symbol is actually Bs.  However, there’s an increasing trend towards fully capitalising, thusly: BSRoll Eyes

I see Mr "Rapture" Harold Camping, Ruptured an artery and suffered a stroke.... seems like one of two explanations are in order here:

1) He's being smited for presuming to know god's plan
2) He's being raptured and will be going "home" soon....
