Yesterday I found myself traveling on the R62 in the Eastern Cape and turned right onto the R339 towards Uniondale. What a pleasant surprise! If you ever find yourself in that area it is worth a small detour. Similar to the pass at De Rust but shorter and not as spectacular, but worth it.

Didn't happen to spot the famous ghost girl, did you?  :-)
There's a ghost girl? What's the story? I was capable to have seen ghosts by the time I reached home. The day started at 4:45 in Uitenhage, I worked in Kareedouw, left there at 13:45 and was home at 5:30, 24:45 hours later.

I think brianvds is referring to no 10 in the list above ... the mysterious disappearing hitchhiker of the Uniondale district.

Springs, Gauteng. What is the story here? These are vandalised toilets that were supposed to be in a squatter camp, I suppose. It covers quite a few hectares. Why was the scheme abandoned? Are they connected to the municipal sewerage system or are they long drops?

Confucious says: One broken toilet makes many squatters.

Rigil

PS: Sorry. That's a crappy joke.

Not wanting to brave the N2 roadworks near Grahamstown, I turned south and passed what could perhaps be mistaken for SpongeBob's summer home. Which Eastern Cape town houses this towering subtropical treat?

What is south of south? Here you can see my town's suburbs. "Suid" is an old suburb, named back when they obviously thought that, that was how big the town would grow in that direction, but now?
