I couldn't find a thread like this on the forums*, if there is one please refer me to it.

* other than maybe and which weren't quite what I was after.

So here are mine:

Favourite atheism blog/podcast

Common Sense Atheism (
and the associated podcast - Conversations from the Pale Blue Dot (

A description from the blog:
"Why This Blog Is Different.
I want this blog to be different, in productive and admirable ways, from most other atheist blogs out there. Here are the ways in which this blog is – or strives to be – different:
   1. Correctable and honest. I do not pretend to have all the answers. Readers regularly correct me.
   2. Fair. I don’t think atheists are necessarily better or more rational people than believers.
   3. Broad and deep. I have posts on the Historical Jesus, early Christianity, Creationism, Islam, jokes, atheist films, ethics etc.
   4. Cutting edge. I don’t merely rehash ancient arguments for and against God.
   5. Constantly updated. "

Highly recommended.

Favourite skeptic podcast/blog

Skeptoid (
"Each weekly episode focuses on a single phenomenon — an urban legend, a paranormal claim, alternative therapy, or something just plain stupid — that you've heard of, and that you probably believe in. Skeptoid attempts to expose the folly of belief in non-evidence based phenomena, and more importantly, explains the factual scientific reality."

Informative, accessible and fun.

Favourite atheist cartoon

Jesus and Mo (

Favourite science blogs

Or at least mostly science:

So now when I post you know whose opinions I'm rehashing Smiley

The Skeptics Guide to the Universe is superb: (I have a write-up of more science/skeptical podcasts here: Skeptical blogs I read include Ben Goldacre's "Bad Science" and Steven Novella's "NeuroLogica".

As for atheist stuff, I don't really follow it that much online (tired of the arguments), but Jerry Coyne is good (and for biology too), as is Greta Christina. (PZ, of course, is the locus classicus).

Other general science blogs I like are John Hawks' Anthropology Blog and Carl Zimmer's The Loom.

As for other stuff... xkcd is of course the best science webcomic.
