Quote
Cecilia (Liana) Munnik from Pretoria alleges that Margaret de Beer repeatedly kicked her between the legs and told her that she's going "straight to hell" for being gay. She was also told that she is "an insult to Christianity".

De Beer apparently said she wanted to kick Munnik to "convert her".

i have no words for the complete sickness of this story.  i would gladly fish out my gothy steeltipped cats, and give mr and mrs de beer a few solid kicks in the nethers.
i cant say much more without using a lot more swear words, so i leave it here.

....and in their small minds they think the Lesbian is the Freak???  Suppose Mrs De Beer earned her special spot in Heaven by doing this?  Yeah yet again, I can see true Christian love in this.
Is this the kinda treatment their children could expect when one day, one of them comes out of the closet?  Damn Barbaric!!! WTF!!

How exactly kicking someone in the genitals repeatedly is supposed to show them how superior your viewpoint is, is of course still a mystery.

Yeah Boogie, going by her reasoning, we should kick her in the head, because we disagree with
her beliefs!

xtians boggle my mind.
i remember, when i had a gf back the day, my sister gave birth to her 1st back then, and i went to visit for the christening of the poor little shit.
he was 5 days old, and he was pulling his little hands all weird, and his pinki stuck up when he made a fist.
what did his dad say?
'you better not start with that shit'
and im sitting there, thinking, you have have to be fucking kidding me.  i am sitting here, they know i have a girlfriend, and they want to tell their 5 DAY OLD child, that they wont tolerate homosexuality.
i was gobsmacked.  and ofcourse, when i mentioned it to my mum, she made it out as a joke.
i was highly offended.
when my dad died, and i went to kroonstad for the funeral, my gf went with for moral support, and my mum let us sleep in the same room, but seperate beds.  next door to her room (was she hoping we wouldnt bonk or what?)
it was made clear, that they tolerate my gf, but wont treat her as well as they would a boyfriend.
even when i came out of the closet, my sister's first reaction was 'is this an attention seeking thing?'
wow, i can think of better ways to get a reaction than that.

i really think most people, not even xtians, think that homosexuality, or even bisexuality, is something you do , coz you are being rebellious.  i dont know how other people's minds work, but i have NEVER slept with somene for the sake of rebellion.
when one happens to fall in love with a person, and they happen to be the same sex as you.  or a different race.  what exactly did you do wrong in following your heart?

i am very militant when it come to homophobic behaviour.  and it think, that the gay community needs to become more militant too.
i dont say, burn down houses and loot stores.  but maybe do more, than just dress up like loons once a year for Pride march.  create more arenas for aware making.  start insisting that homosexuality gets teached at schools at sex-ed, and kids are told its NORMAL.  educate parents and teachers.  offer support for kids who are in the closet.
i wish i had the tools to do this, but unfortunately, i simply dont have the time and monetary backup to do much.  and since i'm a fence sitter, the gay community dont think i represent them sufficiently anyways.

its a sad, sad, state of things.

can we find out where this church is, where this thing took place?
i would gladly send them a letter, and i think, if we can get people to do the same, it could reach the news, that people think its really shitty that a house of god, which is supposed to be a place of hope, and light, and love.

Wellllllllllllllll....... the thing is some (like my) parents don't deal well with the whole "sleeping in the same room/bed" thing, even if you're straight. Even though I've lived on my own for years, for some reason my parents assume something is going to "happen" in their house that isn't already happening (let's face it, with them down the hall, the chances are significantly diminished) in my own house. I find the logic completely skewed. I had to lay the law down on my mom one particular visit and since she's begrudgingly prepared the room with the double bed for us. (It was always available, but not "allowed").

The thing about this that puzzles me is how often my parents bemoan my lack of visits to them, and then you go and, all you get is static the whole weekend. Uhm, not really encouraging me to come back now are you?

reason number gazillion that i no longer have contact with my mum.  i mean, honestly, im 28, what are the chances im still innocent?  drugs and rock'nroll aside.
i was told, in no uncertain way, that i cannot bring my indian boyfriend to come visit.  she said, and i quote 'the neighbours.....'
i said to my sidhart, back then, jokingly, the neighbours would propably shoot him if he stepped outside at 11pm to have a smoke.  but i could see he felt really hurt by it. he's form kenya, and that kind of attitude was very foreign to him.
so much for the new south africa.
i never go for the clean-cut, afrikaner dude.  they bore me shitless.  so i tend to arrive at my mum's with girls, dudes with long hair, souties, indians, you name it.
and afterwards, if the relationship went south, i had to hear all the colourfull things they actually thought about this person.  so now, with my new bf, i have absolutely no intent on even remotely letting them even know i am alive, nevermind in a new relationship.  with a dude with long hair, and english to boot.

Well..... I'm with you here, there are exceptions, and my sincere apologies to those that frequent here, but generally the afrikaner men turns me ice cold and reaching for an axe or something equally hefty in hand with a sharp edge.

I've been invited to a gay "40th Cock party" on Saturday, and am so looking forward to it. The kids are going along and dragging two buddies with them too, this is the benefits of bringing up liberal kids, you get to influence their circle of friends too.

I'm sorry....  Embarrassed

I'm referring to the more traditional afrikaner man though, the "God en Vaderland" brigade, I dont expect to find any of those here though....
