First, the Google ad for "Intelligent Design facts" on your registration page: is that the work of a hacker? Second, are you competing with the folk at www.scepticssa.com? If so, why? (Perhaps you're American, and prefer to spell "sceptic" with a "k".) And finally, thanks for going to the trouble of setting up this site. You give us hope...

Unfortunately I do not have much control over the ads shown. See this thread: High blood pressure.

I contacted scepticsa.com, but haven't received any replies. It doesn't look like there is much going on though. His blog is here: Prometheus Unbound

As for skeptic with a k, I'm not american and perfectly aware that it should be spelt with a c Wink. But I chose to use skeptic for several reasons. See Skeptic vs. Sceptic.

Welcome to the forum btw. If you have any suggestions, do not hesitate to post them.

Trust me, Google ads are generally a hoot on these types of sites.
The best skeptical/science blogs always have some type of woo being advertised.
Wait sec... that's what I said last time (except I said "rationalist" websites).

Yeah, I generally find them amusing. However, I am adding some sites to the filter list as I think fit. Your help would be appreciated in this regard.

Hiya, yeahsure, and welcome to this fine forum. Smiley

In truth, it's often quiet around here for extended periods.  Then someone will pick a fight that lasts a few days before petering out.  Latest example (and perennial favourite) is a squabble over Darwinian terminology being self-contradictory.

Thanks for the friendly reception. As for the Google ads, it's clear I should have done a little homework before commenting. At the risk of sounding diffident, perhaps I should lurk for a while...

Seems that they too are plagued (for now) by laughably unrelated Google ads - the same ones, as I recall.
