By analogy, there may well be something to the tokoloshe's ability to gain invisibility by swallowing a pebble after all. The ostrich does a similar thing. It also feasts on stones, after which it can switch on its invisibility by sticking its head in the sand.

No. It's a myth. it originated from the observation that ostriches bend down to eat their heads from a distance are virtually invisible...
