I am not a golfer but just saw an ad on TV that promotes titanium clubs that "will rise your game". For the top players maybe, but they will already have it if it works, but for normal players? I doubt it. For a yuppie of course - a must have.

Titanium is strong and lightweight. I can see that these would be good attributes in a golf club. Whether it would make a big difference to the novice golfer - I suspect you are right Roll Eyes

Titanium drivers and fairway "woods" can be manufactured with thinner walls and larger volume while staying within the weight limit set by the controlling bodies for golf. Titanium drivers also have larger sweetspots so enable the not so good golfer to hit the ball straighter a greater percentage of the time. The modern titanium clubs appear to allow the golfer to hit the ball further than steel due to their having more flex.

OK, but how much better? Worth the extra cost? I still doubt it.
