Please list your top 2 concerns in this thread. It would be nice to know which issues SA sceptics deem important at this point in time.

Mine at the moment, due to recent run-ins on both accounts, are:

1. religion in schools (Busy picking a pre-primary option for our 3 year old)

2. reflexology (Had a stimulating discussion with a practitioner a few weeks ago, and learned all about "meridians" - go on, ask me anything! Wink)

Only one, really: any and all forms of magical thinking.  Too broad a category?  Perhaps.

If I had to choose the two most infuriating deceptions, I would say sangomas and psychics.

1. Psychic mediums.

2. Psychic healers.

Psychic healers grate me more than any other woo peddler because they convince gullible people that they have the ability to cure all manner of ills, and that is dangerous. Angry

Its so hard to choose!! I agree with all of you, so I think I will cheat then  Wink

1. Life endangering alternative treatments (whether that's the sangomas poisoning our population or the homoeopaths, chiropractors, crystal healers, and so on who explicitly or implicitly discourage the use of evidence-based medicine).

2. Anyone who claims privileged knowledge of the afterlife and actively promotes their view.

Yup, covered everything already mentioned ... altmed, ancient mystic beliefs, psychics, daytime talkshow topics and religion in one fell swoop.  Too bad my answer is disqualified.

No, no, no

That is part of the three-in-one. You are a) short one and b) owe us a second one.

EDIT: on second thoughts, the Spook always gets the short end of the stick innit?

But if 3 = 1, then any number can be shown to be equal to any other.  In particular, 2 = 1 (see proof below).  Thus, one is two, which is exactly what was asked for in the OP. Roll Eyes

(It’s called “confusing the issue with logic.”)

'Luthon64

  3 = 1
↔ 2 = 0              / subtract 1 from each side
↔ 1 = 0              / divide each side by 2
2 = 1 Q.E.D.      / add 1 to each side.

  • Liars for God.
  • Liars for Jesus.

Amen brother! But howzabout a trinity? -

Liars for god the father.
Liars for god the son.
Liars for god the holey ghostey.

That said, I will call in an international jihad on those who insult my own preferred deity, that great Aztec fatty Pretzlpakit!
 Wink

PS. 'Luthon64, please stop confusing us ordinary half-wits with higher mathematics!  Grin

That’s “higher arithmetic” to you, please Tongue, and I don’t think there are any ordinary halfwits here, although there have, in truth, been a few extraordinary ones… Wink

Sorry, couldn’t resist that.

You are forgiven... but only because I need a new keyboard anyway. What is a few drops of red wine gonna to it?
