The reason I have an iron deficiency is because my body, for some reason or another, simply does not absorb the iron it should, no matter what I eat.
I had a lemon tree that was sickly and didn't fruit. An expert on such things told me it was due to an iron deficiency and that I should hammer 6-inch iron nails here and there into the trunk of the tree.  I did that and it worked a treat--the leaves became a proper green colour and the tree began to bear fruit like crazy.

I don't know if that would work with people, though.  Probably more research is required.

They tried that with some Jewish bloke about 2,000 years ago but he didn’t sprout green leaves or start bearing fruit like crazy, except perhaps metaphorically…

OUCH! I think i'd rather stay anemic, thanks
(too big a risk to try it, anyway - not just medically, but just in case someone thinks I'm trying to identify, associate or equate myself with that jewish dude previously mentioned...) Tongue

Grin  Yeah you surely won’t pass out because of an iron deficiency, but because of the excruciating pain until death sets in, after a hell of a blood poisoning!  Grin

Well, the Romans knew the importance of sample size, they didn't just try it on one, they tried it on lots and lots of Jews actually.

[T]hey didn't just try it on one, they tried it on lots and lots of Jews actually.
Not just Jews.  Evidently, they also had a deep reverence for the maxim, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” Evil
