Is that simply a coincidence, or is Max Weber's theory about the Protestant ethic being intertwined with the spirit of capitalism still valid, over 100 years on?

I have to wonder out loud if it's not just education, but the catholic ban on birth control that could also lend a helping hand.

(Besides the obvious elephant of causation and correlation)
