Indeed!

I did some youth missionary work and started studying theology at a seminary once (now just a bunch of regrettable memories), one of the first things you quickly learn about preaching and setting up the church service is that everything is about manipulating peoples emotions.

I think its got a helluva lot to do with people's expectations of what your answer is "supposed" to sound like - ie. you should affirm their beliefs, comforting them
That may very well be true. Religiots may well be disgruntled when they find the mutual mastu massaging that they depend on to override their cognitive faculties are not available on tap any more.

Well congrats on that, just don't pull a Marvin on yourself, hey! Ain't it strange how we always look for deeper meanings in things like turning another 10 years older or like this 2000th post - strange how we always expect to have achieved something or say or do something when we reach a goal or anything, this usually cause me disappointments too if I think about stuff like that rather than just enjoying the moment, but hell I always tend to fuss  about stuff, just don't ask me why, you'd probably get a better answer on this from my dog Smiley

Well congrats on that
Thank you! Smiley

Well, in my defense, only metaphorically. Only the best literary devices on the grand occasion. Tongue

LOL! Smiley

Still even if we do give them a reality shock, they quickly shutdown, putting their fingers in their ears and shouting/singing LA-LA-LA hysterically Smiley
