I searched for my book on Amazon Kindle and was informed that it was not available in that format. I will discuss the possibility of Kindle with my publishers and let you know.

BTW: I'm collecting "Courage To Doubt" stories for some personal research and to put onto my blog. I'm looking for testimonies from people all over the world concerning how they reached their non-religious views and how their religion-free conclusions affected their lives. Does anyone on this forum know how I can go about this? Am I allowed to give out my email address for interested participants?

A thought: some people might be hesitant to make submissions unless they can be assured of some sort of anonymity.  Another question concerns the extent of the editorial rights that you reserve for yourself on such submissions if you aim to publish them.

My intention at this point is research - curiosity. In the past I have been accused by Christians, as I'm sure other atheists have, of becoming an atheist due to disappointment with God, disappointment with churches, a traumatic experience - all sorts of things. But, like every single other conversion from deception to truth (i.e. losing one's religion) testimony I've heard, it was a case of "more knowledge" that was the primary cause. I am curious to know - from as many people as possible - what was the trigger? My theory is that in most cases it is the acquisition of knowledge, but I would like to test my theory.

At the moment I'm posting each story onto my blog. I guess this can be called "publishing" and I do a little bit of "editing" in that I correct typos and the most serious grammatical errors. Other than that I'm not sure what "editorial rights" are in this case. I'm doing it for fun and to learn something. If my theories are confirmed then I may publish an article somewhere on the net (or maybe even start a new posting here) regarding my findings - again, simply for the fun of sharing views and ideas with like-minded curious people like us.

When I post someone's testimony onto my blog I merely give their first name and country of origin - no contact details anywhere near the blog which is why I need them sent to my private email address.

I'm gonna see if I can figure out how to start a new topic - if it works, we can continue there.

In retrospect I should have tried Penguin but I am now tied into a 3-yr contract with Raider Publishing International. They gave me a really good deal but I am now kind of stuck with finding a distributer in SA. Will keep you all posted.

Steve, I notice on the website for Raider Publishing that they have opened an office in Johannesburg.   Isn't it their duty to promote and distribute their clients' books?   You should not need a separate distributor.
There is also critical discussion of Raider Publishing on some forums, including here.   You mention that they gave you a really good deal, and I hope your book gets what it deserves.

I asked them for the phone number of the Raider office in Jhb - turns out it's not really a branch, just a message service run by a guy who can't even speak English properly (Eish). I feel scammed by Raider at this point so I'm gonna check out my contractual obligations and see if I can get out and publish with Penguin or Ulysses.

Oh well - the book is still available at Exclusive Books (on order) and I think the quality is quite good. Quite a few have bought the book from loot.co.za and also seem happy with the results. It's gonna be a bit of "wait and see" for now
