SCIENTIST: “Dr. Adrian Tiplady (PhD Astronomy) – by day the Radio Frequency Interference & Site Characterisation Manager for the South African Square Kilometre Array Project, by night an aspirant jazz musician and always a Sharks Fan!”

DATE: Thursday 30th June 2011

Time: 6:30 for 7:00 pm

VENUE: Auditorium, Education Centre, Sci-Bono Discovery Centre, Miriam Makeba Street, between Jeppe and President streets, Newtown, Johannesburg

Because booking an auditorium at The IS Campus is expensive, reserved for the likes of Amway.

there are cheaper auditoriums, i would know, i researched it extensively for the star wars marathon.  there are, in fact, free ones...

Thoroughly enjoyed the presentation. It created a proudly South African feeling  Smiley and then reality checked-in when I found out that our skeptic detective was mugged at an intersection on the way in.  Sad

The next talk will be on the science in movies that I think will be cool, and you get a bonus adrenaline filled gauntlet run through the Bree street taxi rank. Tongue
