Sleep

I read a book the other day by Isaac Asimov, can't remember the name, but it is about an alien world with 6 suns. On this world it never gets dark. In the story he had the characters go to sleep, but will they? Here on earth some animals do not see day light their entire lives, but they evolved from animals that did, so they have sleep build into them. It seems like a big waste of time to sleep. We can't escape it, because we are part of a world with one sun, but one wonders what path evolution would follow on a different world with different conditions.

Yup, we would "live" a third longer if we didn't need to sleep. But I must say, I will really miss it
Although, if we evolved without the need to sleep, we wouldn't have known what we were missing...
