So having taken up smoking once again some time ago (a much milder cig but still...), I'm having to go through this bloody fucking horrible ordeal once again trying to abstain.

So, day 3 without nicotine, still a bit... edgy.

It is never a good idea to go back but still it always SEEMS like such a harmless thing at the time.

In other news: Lungs are feeling a lot less "weighted" this morning.

I went through a couple of relapses, but have been off the smokes for long enough now to be quite sure it will not happen again.  What I found was that the previous attempts were not all wasted - it actually becomes easier.  Good luck!

Vasbyt. For me the crucial time was the first 14 days. After that the frequency (of needing one) started to drop.

19 hours and counting.  I've destroyed a double tiered box of chocolates and feel quite ill from all the sweetness.

I WILL DO THIS!!!

ugh.

Do it Faerie!

I had a slight relapse again. Darnit. But I'm > 2 months clean at the moment and happier than ever about it.

Day by day: Worry about tomorrow later. Just get through today.

So I take it that failed?

Almost 3 months clean, and I don't miss it.

The problem isn't stopping, it's not starting again.  I've quit for over a year twice and then been stupid enough to start again.  Third requit, about 2 months now and going strong.  This time I won't go back...

*sigh*   Embarrassed

I'm starting a new job in Jan, so come hell or high water, from the 7th Jan onwards I CANNOT smoke at work, which will probably help a great deal as I have a variety of smoking buddies that come sauntering by my desk and ask me along at the moment. I wont have that problem in the new job at least...

Yeah I've had my relapses nicely documented by this thread. Also quit for a year and was dumb enough to think "just one".

There really is nothing rational about addiction.

It's quite a lot easier this time, because Scallywag has quit as well.  One of the reasons I started again was that Scallywag had her smokes lying around the house.  Too easy to nick one.
