Oh the irony that leapt out of this quote....

Quote
My favourite app is this prayer app," she said, showing one of the religion apps on her Apple iTouch. "You type in a prayer to God and send it. A little clock ticks and then says your prayer has been sent. But it doesn't go anywhere, or does it?"

Hey - here's a business idea. You know those numbers you text to get stuff? Like a new ring tone etc.? They advertise them on TV (okay, I think they do, I haven't seen TV for a very long time). Well, why don't we start a Prayer Line. People send us their prayers and we charge R5 per SMS - we'll all be millionaires mwuaaahahahahaaah.

What is more, you'll probably be safe from anyone suing you for not answering any prayers.

A short "your prayer has been received" is already more than the Big Kahuna ever does....

Heheh, yes. And we would probably end up being more popular than Gawd because we are more responsive. At least our prayers would be received and not answered - that's one up on Sky Dude. Praise the Lard - halleluu$$$$$jah. I can feel the outpouring of credulous money already.

Luckily the sheeple are so sheepish, a headline could hit the news: "Prayer line run by money-grubbing skeptics", and the service would only become more popular.

The "Church on Wheels" here in Middelburg had a "Send Jesus a SMS" campaign. Had signs up all over town. Lots of people did just that until they saw the bill. He charged R14 per SMS with no reply. If you are going to scam them, make it worthwhile, I guess.

You would have thought Christians would be familiar with the "no reply" story and high price-tag by now. And BMonster: Sheeple - LOL brilliant.

Praise Je$u$! I find shit like this sooo tempting... Evil

The lesson people should take home from this is "Be nice to skeptics!" We are constantly being tempted by the dark side. I'd bet many con men are basically just skeptics who have given up fighting the woo.
